The Pulsar Popper is constructed of plastic with an internal hexagonal structure for added strength. Unlike other poppers, these lures are use thru-wire construction so they can handle stronger fish and will hold up for a long time. The rattles not only add sound waves and added commotion but act as a casting system to help you achieve more distance on every single cast. With really big 3D eyes and great paint jobs, the Dark Matter Fishaholic Pulsar Popper will get bit often! They have been outfitted with Super sharp 4X strong VMC treble hooks on stainless steel split rings. The rear hook is dressed with a feather. These lures are very easy to use and extremely effective. Don't take my word for it. Take Fishaholic's.

Here's what Rich "Fishaholic" Janitschek had to say about these lures: "What is your favorite way to catch predatory fish species...?” If you ask that question to most anglers around the world many will reply hands down the most exhilarating way is with a topwater plug. The Dark Matter Fishaholic Pulsar Popper was designed with that in mind to draw up unbelievable explosions from predatory fish species. With every pop and jig this plug will push water and create bubbles imitating an injured baitfish on the surface of the water. Available in two sizes and five great colors, this plug will match the hatch and profile of most baitfish in our oceans, bays, harbors, lakes, rivers, or ponds. Fish of all sizes will be attracted to eat the Pulsar Popper from Striped Bass, Bluefish, Tuna, Tarpon, or Snook in saltwater to Pike, Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass in freshwater. The list of species can go on and on! In addition, rest assured with the super strong through wire construction and razor sharp VMC hooks you can have the confidence to land your trophy when you get an explosive topwater bite!"

Dark Matter Fishaholic Pulsar Poppers are available in 3 3/4" 3/4 oz and 5" 1 1/2 oz models. Like Fishaholic said, choose from five great colors - blue/silver, bone, chicken scratch, rainbow bunker and wonderbread. We recommend throwing this lure with a Dark Matter Fishaholic Inshore Spinning Rod. You are going to love fishing one of these poppers!

ANGLERS ARE ASKING

The Pulsar Popper is fished with a popping retrieve—short, sharp pulls of the rod tip followed by brief pauses.

Each pop creates noise and surface commotion, which helps draw fish in. The pause between pops is often when strikes happen, so it’s important not to rush the retrieve.

This popper is highly effective for striped bass, bluefish, snook, and other inshore predators that feed on the surface.

Any time fish are actively feeding or reacting to surface disturbance, a popper like this can produce explosive strikes.

Use a popper when you want to create more noise and attract fish from a greater distance.

Poppers are especially effective in rougher water, windy conditions, or when fish are spread out. Spooks are better for a more subtle presentation when fish are already keyed in.

A medium to medium-heavy inshore spinning rod in the 7' to 7'6" range works best for fishing poppers.

You need enough backbone to work the lure aggressively and handle hard strikes, especially from species like bluefish and striped bass. Pair it with a 4000–5000 size spinning reel and 20–30 lb braided line. A short fluorocarbon or mono leader is recommended depending on conditions.

This setup gives you the power to cast, pop the lure effectively, and control bigger fish on the surface.

If fish are holding deep or not reacting to surface activity, a topwater popper may not be the best choice.

In those conditions, switching to a subsurface lure or jig will usually be more effective.
