Dark Matter Fishaholic Inshore Spinning Rods will take your inshore game to the next level! Designed in collaboration with Fishaholic, Dark Matter built a series of rods that met a wide variety of inshore tasks. The original 7'6" M is perfect whether you fish from a boat, the beach or a kayak. This rod will deliver high performance! The Fishaholic Inshore Spinning Rod is constructed using a lightweight yet durable Dark Matter Blank. It has been outfitted with Fuji Alconite guides with K frames that are perfect for braided lines and will reduce windknots. The Fuji TVS reel seat has cutouts on either side so your hand is on the blank and you can feel every hit and twitch. Fishaholic fishes hard and wanted super durable grips so the rod is outfitted with X-Wrap over EVA which will give you excellent grip, even when wet and will hold up well over time. You don't typically see this grip material on a rod with this level of sensitivity and action but it just adds to the experience. If you're a Fishaholic fan you're going to love his fishing rod!

Here's what Fishaholic has to say about this rod: "The 7'6" Medium Fast Action Dark Matter Fishaholic Inshore rod was designed to be the ultimate light tackle inshore surf, kayak, or boat fishing weapon! Designed with Fuji Alconite K Guides and a Fuji TVS Reel Seat. As well as EVA X-wrap foregrip and rear grip for a comfortable strong hold when battling fish when your hands are wet and slimy. Tested thoroughly along the entire east coast of the United States. Whether you're back bay fishing for Striped Bass in the North East, Stalking Redfish in the Creeks in the Carolinas, or hunting for Tarpon and Snook around the Florida mangroves this rod will offer you the functionality to offer smaller presentations to match the hatch and catch more fish!"

Building on the success of the 7'6" M, Dark Matter added a 7' H and 7'10" H for throwing big spooks and larger lures. This is an excellent rod for fishing up and down the East Coast but excels in the North East for striped bass and in Florida for tarpon, big jacks and snook. It features comfortable cork grips, Fuji Alconite K Guides and a Fuji barrel reel seat that will accommodate larger spinning reels.

Dark Matter Fishaholic Inshore Spinning Rods are one-piece and are available in 7'6", 7'H and 7'10" H. The 7'6" M is available in ocean blue while all models are available in avocado green. They come with a 1-year limited warranty

ANGLERS ARE ASKING

Yes—these rods are built for anglers targeting a wide range of inshore species with artificial lures or live bait.

The Fishaholic series is designed to be versatile, giving you the right balance of casting distance, sensitivity, and power whether you’re fishing from a boat, dock, or shoreline.

  • 7'6" Medium (M): Best for lighter applications like fluke, schoolie striped bass, and general inshore fishing where sensitivity and casting smaller lures matter
  • 7' Heavy (H): A step up in power for larger striped bass, heavier lures, and situations where you need more backbone. Great for throwing spooks
  • 7'10" Heavy (H): Same taper as the 7' version but longer. Perfect for targeting tarpon in FL

Yes—especially the 7'10" Heavy model, which we regularly recommend for tarpon fishing in Florida.

It has the length for casting, the backbone to handle strong runs, and the durability needed for big fish. If tarpon is your target, this is the model to go with.

These rods are designed to handle a wide range of inshore species, including striped bass, bluefish, fluke, snook, redfish, and tarpon (with the heavier models).

The exact model you choose will determine how heavy of a fish and lure you can comfortably handle.

If you’re looking for a very specialized rod—for example, a dedicated light-tackle finesse rod or a heavy offshore setup—this may not be the right fit.

The Fishaholic series is built for versatility in inshore conditions. If your fishing is extremely specific or outside that range, a more specialized rod would be a better choice.
